Osteopathy

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to treating the body. This means osteopaths treat the body as a whole to aid self-healing.

Osteopathy is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue functioning smoothly together.

Our osteopath uses a variety of techniques to improve health by moving (through articulation and adjustments), stretching, and massage to aiding the joints, and muscles in our patients.

Many of our patients come to us having sustained injury through accident, lifting or doing heavy manual work. Therefore, people who see an osteopath do so for help with back, neck, and shoulder pain, or other problems related to muscles and joints. Our aim is to get them better and back to work as soon as possible. Other people may attend to maintain their general well-being, manage stress, and enhance their lifestyle.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing developed over thousands of years. It is now widely used and accepted all over the world.

The theory of acupuncture is based on the principal of ‘Qi’ which flows through our body in channels called ‘meridians’. Acupuncture stimulates points on the meridians to activate the body’s own natural healing abilities and works by balancing the whole body and mind.

An acupuncture treatment focuses on the individual person and not just their illness or condition. All symptoms are seen in relation to each other. Two people with the same western diagnosis are likely to receive different acupuncture treatments.

For a list of what acupuncture is associated for assisting with, please see the FAQ questions section.
